I bought a permanent account in the first wave of those sales well over a decade ago. It was so long ago, I was still in California and hadn't yet gotten my Bachelors Degree.

Yes, it is still there. But it's empty. And that is how it will stay until and unless it stops being run by the Russian government. See, I don't trust the FSB not to try to use the content against me.

The content has been migrated over to Dreamwidth, though.

Anyone have good wishes for me to get a new job? (yes, that again) I will take any you can spare.

As for the rest, well, back to editing novels that need the patchup treatment.

I want to be back in engineering and keep applying to various positions that come available.

And last Monday, I was told that I was being laid off due to lack of work. The company lost the contract that I had moved to help them with. So I qualify for unemployment.

So... I am sitting in WDM Public Library trying to write through the unemployment after a morning of job searching, sewing, and laundry.

And after finishing Barbara Bradley Hagerty's book "Life Reimagined" which, while there is a tinge of Christianity - expected since that is her faith - is still a good book to use as a bit of advice on how to deal with middle age, which is what I am coming up on.

I will call agencies tomorrow morning to see if there is anything clerical for me.

We will see.

I might have a permanent job, but that involves me moving.
I heard on July 3 from a friend that they had checked at least her as a reference on July 2nd. I have heard nothing since then, but I seem to remember the hiring manager was going on vacation for at least a week. It has now been 2 weeks since I interviewed. I was told mid-July was when I would know.

The "2 hiring managers" from my previous post were merged into 1 and I interviewed at the location yesterday, where the hiring manager was going to be hiring 2 people out of the last 4. I think it went well, and I asked questions from the list of "followup" questions I'd found. I was told at least 2 weeks to know for certain from them.

I want a job. I want either of the 3 positions I interviewed for and I want to be able to start damn soon.

Make it happen!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-18771263176860986402015-06-24T08:55:00.001-05:002015-06-24T08:55:11.868-05:00And the slog continuesMore jobs applied for and more interviews.

I have 2 hiring managers who had been looking at me at the same company.

I want one of those jobs dammit.

I want to be able to decide where I want to go and be happy at my job.

I want a job.
I am feeling wayward and lost with my life and my employment prospects.
A Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering is in my hands and in my head
Flexibility and adaptability as well as a high willingness to learn is in my heart
Help me to find a good job in my chosen field,
As well as to not lose hope and focus on the way to finding the work.
I want to firmly impress hiring managers and co-workers-to-be
To the point that they take a look at my resume and say
"That's the one! Offer her a job! Pay her what she wants!"

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-90948515153945543062015-04-13T12:52:00.003-05:002015-04-13T12:52:57.389-05:00Finding Work is hard to doAbout two months ago, my contract ended and I have been looking for work since then.

My current total of interviews (both in person and phone screen) is about 11. I have another one tomorrow morning. I am tired of looking for work and want someone to please hire me, preferrably to do engineering work.

I want to be just the person a company is looking for and I want it to happen soon. This has been rough on my mental state. I think I've been depressed for the last 2 months.

I do not want to have to invoke St. Jude (aka: Patron Saint of Lost Causes) but the longer this goes on, the more I wonder if my finding a good engineering job is a lost cause.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-16374139352183231132015-02-08T09:21:00.001-06:002015-02-08T09:21:02.856-06:00Moar Snow Plz!Despite there having been a massive storm last weekend, and the fact that it has been warm enough this weekend for some melt-off, I want more snow.

This winter has been very weird with its warm stretches that melt everything between the stretches when it snows and all that.

I want more snow. And I want a good stretch where it stays cold and stays snowy.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-55296024598586920582014-12-18T23:52:00.000-06:002014-12-18T23:52:26.929-06:00Ugh. Brown so farThe snow that fell all melted and it's been warm and wet, and then cool and wet, and now cool and dry.

It's a week until Christmas. Winter Solstice is Sunday.

WHERE IS THE SNOW?!

I want my snow, dammit.

I want a white holiday season.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-69065588430793498002014-11-19T23:28:00.001-06:002014-11-19T23:28:18.594-06:00First Accumulationlast Saturday, the area got its first accumulation of snow.

The light levels are still wrong, but I'm enjoying the temperatures. And the snow on the ground.

There is a forecast for rain and warmer temps this coming weekend.

Winter is on the way though.

Thanksgiving is next weekend after all.

NaNoWriMo started today.

Daylight Savings time ends early tomorrow.

Hurray!

I know people have issues with not enough light, but there are others, like me, who have issues with too MUCH light.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-19338290341544149642014-10-04T07:28:00.002-05:002014-10-04T07:28:44.519-05:00First Snow of this season! So, apparently there was a trace of snow/snow showers last night and earlier this morning.

I am so happy.

Yes, this is true. I am thrilled that there was frozen precipitation this morning.

This does not make me a crazy person. This makes me someone who loves winter over summer.

It didn't stick... but it has not been cold enough long enough.

That will happen though.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-14797967827231649152014-08-31T13:18:00.005-05:002014-08-31T13:18:50.049-05:00"Dark" at the end of the TunnelAutumn is now visible to me.

It has been a nice summer, weather wise, with only a few hot days as compared to "ZOMG, WTF?!"

Most of my down days have come when I've been too tired due to work stress, and not the weather.

Now just to wait out the days until Daylight Savings is over. They really need to move it back to late October... or even early October.

Ahhh, cooler weather is on the way.

I would say that this is the light at the end of the tunnel, but since light seems to be part of the problem, maybe this is the dark at the end of the tunnel? ;)

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-52141400699453677912014-06-22T22:36:00.002-05:002014-06-22T22:36:39.882-05:00Starting to count the days...So... first day of summer was yesterday.

From here to December, the days get shorter.

And I think in about a month the days will be noticeably shorter.

I slept horribly last night. Nothing seemed to help me get back to sleep. I was awake every second hour.

I hate summer and can't wait for the season to pass.

However, I do understand that there are people who love love love this season and don't want it to end.

I'm not one of those people.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-24785026159005266742014-05-28T22:34:00.003-05:002014-05-28T22:34:52.541-05:00These are the days...The hot part of the year has arrived.

This has me wanting and wishing for a quick, hot summer, but returning to the cold in the autumn and winter, and into next spring.

For these are the days that try my soul. (and the souls of those who have Seasonal Affective Disorder - Summer Variant)

I hate that they've moved it to start in mid-March... and then won't have it end until mid-November.

The light levels are all wrong.

And right now I've already been depressed for a solid MONTH because the light's all f-cked up.

Can't we just quit or at least move it back to where it was where it started at the first weekend in April and ended it in the last weekend in October?

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-71928749912466930792014-02-12T22:40:00.000-06:002014-02-12T22:40:03.696-06:00Not ready...I must admit that I have enjoyed this winter, the cold temperatures, and the snow.

There is a forecast of near 50F by the middle of next week... and I'm not ready for it to get that warm.

I'm not ready for spring. I'm not ready for summer... I know and understand the necessity of having a warm season or two (or three) since otherwise it is impossible to get food and such, but I'm not ready for winter to soon be over.

I haven't been ready for there to be more light in the day but there it is.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-59299709089763299982013-11-18T09:17:00.001-06:002013-11-18T09:17:13.369-06:00"Pre-Black-Friday" Sale?! Really? So it's not bad enough that the stores are opening ON Thanksgiving (which I will not be participating in) but they are now having "PRE" Black-Friday sales?

Seriously... as if people are already rude and obnoxious to one another ON Black Friday... now retailers want to give people more than one day to do that?

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-70084620023167292672013-08-13T10:06:00.001-05:002013-08-13T10:06:15.112-05:00What a difference!Leaving for work this morning, I noticed that the morning light was finally starting to not be as painful in the eyes as it had been earlier this year... as in: during June and July.

Makes sense, though, considering it's mid-August.

It was a relief to me.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-85532129575720236172013-07-25T22:16:00.002-05:002013-07-25T22:16:54.953-05:00Tired of SummerOkay, you know how I said in a previous post that I thought I was probably getting through the whole "hate summer" thing?

I take it back. I still hate summer. I'm tired of the long days and the bright, bright, bright that is going on in the middle of summer.

This summer has been mild but even so.. too much sunlight, IMO.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961260125577485703.post-60748710474521072632013-07-01T10:29:00.001-05:002013-07-01T10:29:22.851-05:00La la la la Life goes OnI'm trying to figure out what to do in order to deal with summer...

I'm grateful that I managed to get past the Summer Solstice, and these days the days are getting gradually shorter. Every few minutes less of daylight daily is actually a comfort to me. And I think I am trying to convince myself that I can deal with the extended hours of daylight between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice if I can figure out ways to deal with it.

The heat of the summer, though... that's another story.

And I still HATE Daylight Savings Time.

But the days are now getting shorter, so I think that is a GOOD thing.
